No other athlete epitomises endurance, strength, resilience and heart quite like multisport legend Terenzo Bozzone.
In 2018 Bozzone the first person in the world to complete a sub-eight hour Ironman when he took out the Ironman New Zealand event in Taupo.
But perhaps a better example of Bozzone’s resilience is how he dealt with a major set-back later that year, after a serious bike crash left him with head, facial and hand injuries. In his comeback races five months later, Bozzone took out the Ironman 70.3 in Western Sydney, followed by a win in the Ironman Western Australia.
The wins added to his impressive tally of 26 Ironman and 70.3 titles since he made the leap from sprint distance triathlons to the endurance events in 2012.
An approachable athlete who is well-liked on the Ironman circuit, Bozzone has helped mentor a number of aspiring young athletes over the years.
