A powerful lock, Scott Barrett broke into the All Blacks ranks in 2016 and has quickly become a mainstay of the side, playing 30 tests in three seasons.
Rugged with the ball in hand, Barrett is known for his athleticism around the park and knack of setting up tries.
Barrett, who hails from a well-known Taranaki rugby family (you might have heard of his brothers, Beauden and Jordie) has played most of top flight rugby in Canterbury, after being lured south when he was still in his teens.
While still just a young buck, he’s considered a veteran in the Crusaders’ line-up, having debuted for the side in 2014 against a touring English side. Barrett is a huge contributor to the Crusaders’ winning culture, setting the tone with his work ethic and competitive drive.
Away from rugby, Barrett loves getting outdoors and is a keen fisherman, hunter and surfer.
