Boasting the most famous moustache in the game, Karl Tu’inukuafe was an instant fan favourite when he made his All Blacks debut in 2018.
His selection in the national side followed a meteoric rise for the All Blacks loosehead prop, who was without a Super Rugby contract at the end of 2017. A development spot with the Chiefs proved to be his lifeline, with a bad run of injuries in the squad seeing him play 16 matches for the franchise.
Mobile for a big man, with devastating scrummaging abilities, he was then called into the All Blacks side for the June series against France, going on to play in 13 of the team’s 14 tests in 2018.
Tu’inukuafe’s stunning rise saw him nominated for World Rugby’s breakthrough player of the year award in 2018.
Auckland born Tu’inukuafe made the switch to the Blues in 2019.
